Las Vegas: The Entertainment Capital of the World

The city of Las Vegas was incorporated in 1911. At that time, it was a small settlement with a population of about 1,000. In 1931, work began on the nearby Hoover Dam and the population of Las Vegas boomed. The state of Nevada legalized gambling in 1931 and in 1941, the El Rancho Vegas opened as the first resort on The Strip. After World War II, Las Vegas was made popular by the many Hollywood entertainers who lived and worked in Las Vegas, such as Elvis Presley and the Rat Pack. Neon signs started popping up everywhere.

The mob also played a signficant role in the growth of Las Vegas. Names like Bugsy Siegel, Meyer Lansky, and many more live on in history. Today, the population of Las Vegas in more than 600,000. There are more than 172 casinos in Clark County, Nevada, with about 40 casinos on the Las Vegas Strip.

On the Strip, visitors and locals alike love the Aria, Bellagio, Wynn Encore, Venetian-Palazzo, Caesars Palace, Cosmopolitan, Mandarin Oriental, Mandalay Bay, and the Mirage, to name a few of the most popular casinos. Downtown Las Vegas, next to the Fremont Street Experience, is home to many more casinos, hotels, restaurants and bars, including The Plaza, the Golden Nugget, El Cortez, The D, and the Downtown Grand.

Our Las Vegas campus is located just five miles from the fabled Las Vegas Strip. Our 6,000 square foot facility features on-site parking available in the front and on the side. To better facilitate our programs, the labs simulate the actual workplace and are complete, featuring a full-size bar with 14 work stations, and a gaming lab featuring 13 regulation size tables and related equipment.
